Dragon Solar Urban Solar Lighting Design

The DRAGON project was born from the collaboration
between AEC Illuminazione and Davide Oppizzi’s DCUBE SWISS Studio
with the aim of creating a new collection of design lighting fixtures
that combines style, minimalism and innovation.
Every detail has been carefully considered to create a one-of-a-kind solar luminaire,
capable of redefining urban lighting with a contemporary and functional vision.

By combining technological innovation and ecological commitment, AEC has created
a product that uses Hybrid Solar Energy, reducing environmental impact
and opening new horizons for sustainable urban lighting.

Nanotechnology solar panels

DRAGON SOLAR solar panels are designed using advanced materials and cutting-edge manufacturing techniques to improve efficiency and durability compared to traditional solar systems. The panel technology is based on special glass treatments that optimize the optical and mechanical properties of the material.

Solar cells inspired by the blue morpho

The blue morpho, a tropical butterfly with bright blue wings, gets its color not from pigments but from structural coloration: its wings reflect specific wavelengths of light. Inspired by this principle, AEC has developed photovoltaic cells without pigments or paints, designed to be integrated not only on roofs, but also on solar lighting fixtures, maximizing the available surface area to capture solar energy and reduce CO₂ emissions.

Advanced technology

DRAGON SOLAR solar panels are designed according to
the deposition of nanotechnological surface treatments.
Atomic deposition transforms solar glass into colored glass,
making it durable and immune to UV degradation.
A multilayer coating is deposited on the internal surface of the glass
with low-pressure plasma processes.
Its constituent materials are selected exclusively
based on their high solar transmittance,
zero absorption and high durability over time.

High performance

These particular glasses maintain their maximum efficiency without compromising the quality of the coloring, unlike traditional solutions.

Diffuse reflection

The external surface of the treated glass offers diffuse reflection, preventing glare effects and masking the photovoltaic elements encapsulated inside.

Long-lasting color

The solar panels are designed to resist the damaging effects of UV rays, maintaining vivid and bright colors even after years of continuous exposure.

Available colors

The solar panels are available
in four different types of colors.
This variety allows the panels to be integrated
in different urban environments,
providing aesthetic solutions designed
to enhance significant areas.

Lighting fixture dimensions

The luminaire is available in two lengths: 1800 mm and 1500 mm.
Configurable with 3 or 4 modules, the luminaire offers flexibility for different installation needs.

DRAGON SOLAR is available with 3 or 4 solar panels
and can be installed on poles with a height of
8 or 9 meters.
