PMW feeding
(Pulsed Width Modulation feeding)
A particular kind of feeding for LED consisting of a series of constant current impulses, the frequency of which cannot be perceived by the human eye. By varying the width of the impulse, the luminous flux varies too.

Bin
Classification of LED on the basis of certain parameters, for example the luminous flux and the colour temperature.
Constant current
Particular current regime condition. The ballast supplies the LED with direct and constant current, thereby controlling the flux emitted.

Dimming
From the English verb “to dim” which entails the possibility of reducing the luminous flux by means of an electronic regulator used to control the electric power absorbed by a load.

RoHS Directiv
(Restriction of Hazardous Substances Directive).
Norm 2002/95/EC was adopted in February 2003 by the European Community. The RoHS imposes restrictions on the use of the following substances: led, mercury, cadmium, hexavalent chrome, biphenyl poly-brominates.
